ABOUT ME

I'm Damien, or Damo for short.

I enjoy all sorts of games ranging from Overwatch 2 to Final Fantasy XIV. Been playing since I was an actual baby and haven't really stopped. Even on the game I worked on, Sea of Theives, I got the elusive skeleton curse that not many devs have. Depending on my mood, may enjoy a nice casual game or a very competitive one! Love to keep shaking up what I play.

I also enjoy board games like Arkham Horror. Sometimes go shooting with my father and grandfather, not the best shot but I like to shoot fast, maybe a consequences of playing FPS'. My most prized hobby outside of gaming is keeping tropical fish. I love the German Blue Ram, which is a dwarf cichlid that are when kept well are really nice and shiny, which is really telling how to appease me.

Honestly could talk about fish as much as I talk about Games Design.

But to go into why I got into Games Design, when I turned 22, I was unemployed and doing programs to gain basic work skills, when I was asked as a task to write about myself and what I like. I accidently ended up writing an entire review about Persona 5 and the work coach suggested I seriously consider going into Game Reviewing. I briefly thought about it but decided that wasn't quite the path I wanted, but it did set me on my path to become a Game Designer. Since then, I have achieved the highest grade possible in a BTEC Extended Diploma and are currently on track for the same at Degree level in Games Design.

I've completed a year and a half at Rare Ltd, working as the Game Store Author on Sea of Thieves (Which works out as a specialised junior game designer), where we pumped out content every month on a live service game. New cosmetics, new sales, my team helped keep everything a float. We supported various teams as well in this regards, slowly becoming the owners and experts on getting cosmetics in a timely manner. Surrounded by talent, Rare taught me to dream big, and I could change people's lives, as long as I kept myself sharp.
